John Waterworth, Chief Executive

John was appointed Chief Executive of Parkdean Resorts, following the merger of Parkdean Holidays with Park Resorts, SLP (South Lakeland Parks) and SVMP (South View Manor Park) in November 2015 which created the first truly nationwide holiday park business in the UK operating 72 parks and generating EBITDA of over £100m.


John has over 30 years’ experience in the leisure industry, where he has spent his entire working career. He has led Parkdean since its creation in 1999. He led the business to an IPO (Initial Public Offering) on AIM (Alternative Investment Market) in 2002, followed by the acquisition of Weststar (4 parks) in 2007. Prior to his role at Parkdean he held various roles at Butlins, Warners, Granada Entertainments and Vardon plc.


He currently sits on a number of National Caravan Council Committees and is Chairman of the British Graded Holidays Parks Scheme Committee. John is also a member of the Tourism Council. John is a former Director of the National Caravan Council, The Entrepreneurs Forum and Lincolnshire Training and Enterprise Council.


Martin Robinson, Non Executive Chairman

Martin has spent most of his career in the leisure sector. He was CEO and Chairman of Center Parcs Europe and Chairman of Center Parcs UK between 1997 and 2015.


Martin is currently a director of Disneyland Paris, Chairman of Casual Dining Group who operate brands including Las Iguanas, Bella Italia and Cafe Rouge, Chairman of Inspiring Learning (an outdoor education business) and a director of MAF Ventures in Dubai.


Previous stints in leisure also included being Chairman of Wagamama and Holmes Place Health Clubs and a director of the Scottish & Newcastle pub business.


Ian Bull, Chief Financial Officer

Ian was appointed as Chief Financial Officer in March 2016 and joined from Ladbrokes PLC where he was CFO for 5 years. He was responsible for the Group’s affairs relating to accounting, tax, treasury, investor relations, legal affairs and procurement.


Ian was previously Group Finance Director of Greene King plc and has held a number of senior positions with BT Group plc, including CEO of BT Retail Enterprises and CFO of BT Retail. Prior to this Ian was Vice President, Finance of Buena Vista Home Entertainment (Walt Disney Corporation) and has held senior finance positions with Whitbread plc.

Ian is a Non-Executive Director of St Modwen Properties Plc.


Ian Gill, Holiday Sales and Commercial Director

With over 15 years’ experience in the travel, leisure and online retail sectors including spells with William Hill, Wyndham Vacation Rentals and Jet2.com, Ian joined Parkdean in September 2014 having being involved with the business since 2011 on a consultancy and advisory basis. Ian spent 10 years with the Wyndham Vacation Rental business in a variety of executive commercial, operational and e-commerce roles; as Vice President and Marketing Director he was responsible for the sales performance of their UK based self-catered holiday and timeshare exchange businesses. Prior to joining Parkdean, Ian was a Director of Jet2.com and responsible for sales and marketing activities across their airline and package holiday businesses.


Following the merger, Ian has responsibility for delivering the groups holiday business as well as central commercial activities, product development and marketing.


Mark Harper, Chief Operating Officer

Mark has spent his management career in the leisure sector and a significant period of this time in the holiday park sector.


Mark has also worked as a Planning & Control Director for Regal Hotel Group and as an Operations Director for Allied Domecq Leisure. Mark is also a non-executive director at Hubbox, a south west ‘Better Burger’ Restaurant chain. He was most recently Joint Managing Director of Haven UK, and a member of both the Bourne Leisure Operating Board and Investor Board. Mark spent 16 years at Bourne Leisure, including previous roles as Operations Director and Head of Retail Operations.


Maggie Pavlou, Human Resources Director

After an operational focused management career within the Holiday and Leisure divisions of the Rank Organisation, Maggie moved to focus on People Development with Warner Holidays. She returned to her native North East in 1997 when she joined Vaux Breweries as Head of Personnel.


Maggie moved to leading recruitment firm NRG as Associate Director heading up their HR Consultancy Division before finally joining Parkdean as HR Director in 2004. President of the North East Chamber of Commerce 2006 – 2009, Maggie currently holds non-executive board positions at Changing Lives, Newcastle Gateshead Initiative and NECC. She is also a Governor of York, St John University.


Judith Archibold, General Counsel and Company Secretary

Judith joined Parkdean as its in-house solicitor in September 2002 following Parkdean’s listing on AIM and became Company Secretary in November 2002. As Company Secretary Judith was responsible for the legal and regulatory work and governance associated with the company being listed on AIM. 2006 Judith became responsible for overseeing all the legal, regulatory, compliance and licensing functions across the Group.


On the merger of Parkdean and Park Resorts in November 2015 Judith was appointed General Counsel and Company Secretary of the merged business. She is a qualified solicitor with over 25 years’ experience dealing with all aspects of corporate, banking, private equity and business law. Prior to joining Parkdean, Judith worked as a senior associate solicitor at Bond Dickinson in Newcastle and previously spent several years as a senior legal advisor at private equity company, 3i plc. and in private practice in the city and a large national firm.
